(G.D.TYSER & CO.)
The
Tyser Line showed limited
interest in the passenger trade until
about 1909. Provision was offered for a
limited number of saloon
passengers for an irregular service by the ships
listed below. In 1910/1911,
the company receiveed a contract from the State Government of Victoria
fpr the carriage of emigrants from the U.K and
ordered two ships -the
Hawkes Bay II and the Makarini - which could each
carry 1,000 emigrants
between decks
The
eight
vessels marked with an asterisk below became part of the
Commonwealth &
Dominion Line with James P Corry
& Co, CTB Royden
&Co. and W Milburn &
Co when it was established in 1914. Some photos
